Jay is a IT Staff Instructor and has been diving since 1989. He is certified through PSS (Professional SCUBA Schools) as well as PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors).
He is a certified technician for Cressi, Sherwood, Genesis, and OTS.
Jay has experience diving in various lakes in Texas and the oceans and seas of Panama,

Have you always wondered what it's like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren't quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is for you. MidTex SCUBA offers this program in a local pool. While not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. To sign up for a Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health.

Re-Activate is the engaging, efficient way to refresh your scuba skills, especially after a long break from diving. Move quickly through topics you know well, dive deeper on topics where your knowledge may have lapsed. Pool work takes place in a local pool. The "ReActivate" course can be followed up with a lake dive to further refresh skills and get back into diving.

Your adventure begins here! Once you successfully complete this course, you are ready to dive with a buddy to the limit of your learning. This is where you begin to explore God's magnificent underwater world!
The Open Water SCUBA Diver is the first scuba certification level. An Instructor will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, supportive learning environment. By the end of the course, you'll have the skills and knowledge to dive at home or abroad and be an ambassador for the underwater world.
Materials and SCUBA gear is included in the course, but it is recommended that you purchase your own SCUBA Quality mask, fins, snorkel, and boots.
Learning will take place both online and in person. You will then proceed to the pool where you will practice the skills you learned in the course. Finally, you will spend 2 days in Open Water sessions covering all entry level aspects of SCUBA diving.

This course will teach you more about navigation, buoyancy, and deep diving. You will make specific dives to experience and practice what you have learned. You will then move on to additional skills and dives designed to make you a better diver. You can also try a

This course will teach you more about navigation, buoyancy, and deep diving. You will make specific dives to experience and practice what you have learned. You will then move on to additional skills and dives designed to make you a better diver. You can also try a couple of specialty dives of your choosing (it's like a specialty sampler). For every specialty dive you complete, you can earn credit toward the specialty certifications.
Here are a few of the many options: Deep, Digital Underwater Photography, Dive Against Debris, Enriched Air Nitrox, Night, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search & Recovery, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Navigation, Full Facemask, and Wreck Diver - to name a few.
